A first W hotel in Saudi Arabia

The luxury lifestyle brand W Hotels has made its debut in Saudi Arabia in the King Abdullah Financial District business district of Riyadh.

The King Abdullah Financial District was simply waiting for a signature capable of translating its ambition into a hotel experience. This has now been achieved: W Hotels, the lifestyle brand from the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, is establishing its first Saudi Arabian address there, at the crossroads of business flows and new social uses that are reshaping the capital.

The LW Design firm has built the identity of the space around a dialogue between heritage and modernity: reinterpreted Najdi textiles, veined marbles evoking desert landscapes, and geometric patterns inspired by traditional Al Sadu weaving. In the lobby, a six-metre tapestry signed by Saudi artist Abdulnasser Gharem sets the tone, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling curtains that recall the gestures of weaving. The W Lounge, meanwhile, adopts the codes of traditional gathering places, with circular banquettes and low tables reminiscent of Bedouin hearths.

The establishment has 210 rooms, including 17 suites, two penthouse suites, and the W Penthouse, a 390-square-metre centrepiece featuring two bedrooms, a separate living and dining area, a kitchenette, an office, and a sports area with a sauna and hammam – a space designed for both long business stays and urban getaways.

In terms of dining, the hotel aims to establish itself as a destination in its own right on Riyadh's culinary scene. Sira offers open-fire Latin American-inspired cuisine, complemented by a mocktail bar; Beni serves as a coffee house for informal meetings; WET Deck presents a Mediterranean menu by the pool, complete with private cabanas. Sahari, an outdoor lounge dedicated to evening events and scheduled performances, is set to open later in the year.

For the business and MICE clientele, the hotel offers 15 modular meeting rooms and a ballroom, supported by the AWAY spa and the FIT gym equipped with the latest training technologies – perfect for combining seminars and wellness without leaving the establishment.

" The opening of W Riyadh – KAFD marks an important moment for the brand as it enters Saudi Arabia and reaffirms our commitment to redefining luxury lifestyle hospitality in the Middle East. ", notes Helen Leighton, Vice President Luxury Brands EMEA."
