Revolutionising the business hotel sector: since its debut in Amsterdam in 2016, the Zoku has set itself the ambition of offering 'global nomads' places that are just like them. With its ingenious lofts and its lively nightlife, it is targeted at all those creative business travellers who have embraced hybrid working, settling here for a few days, there for several months.
In addition to Amsterdam, this lifestyle interpretation of business accommodation has already been rolled out in Copenhagen, on the island of Amager, and in Vienna, not far from the Messe Wien exhibition centre. For the past few days, it has also been on show in Paris, in the Stream Building, one of the winners of the "Business Accommodation" competition. Hence a certain closeness of spirit between these two pioneering Dutch brands, both of which share an innovative spirit and the same architectural practice behind their concepts, Concrete.
The originality of Zoku Paris lies first and foremost in the eighth and top floor, a huge rooftop accessible to hotel residents and guests alike. It includes a restaurant and bar, as well as a cheese and charcuterie corner for takeaway snacks 24 hours a day. All this is complemented by a large terrace with views over Paris, enhanced by a 900m² vegetable garden that supplies the restaurant with seasonal vegetables and herbs. To ease the loneliness of long-stay residents, a Community Manager organises regular events in this vast space, including aperitifs, dinners and workshops, among other social rituals.
So much for relaxation, if you also include a state-of-the-art fitness room. As for work, Zoku Paris offers coworking spaces which can be rented by the day or by the month, four meeting rooms for six people that can be booked by the day or half-day - or even by the hour for the one equipped with table football! - and a 100 m² event space with kitchenette for 70 people.
But the establishment is also extending the possibility of holding meetings in these lofts, which are perfectly convertible to work sessions. Flexibility of use is at the very heart of Zoku's accommodation concept. Hybrid spaces equipped with kitchens, its rooms organise a vast game of Tetris where elements fit together and partitions disappear to gain in functionality; where the king size bed on the mezzanine is hidden from view. As a result, it is the table, rather than the bed, that becomes the key element of the space, placed in the centre of the living room to receive friends for dinner or colleagues for work.
Zoku Paris offers a total of 109 rooms from 24 to 30m², divided into seven categories ranging from the classic loft to the XXL loft, as well as three new room types: the Zoku flat, the Zoku studio and the MeetingLoft office. To make your stay as easy as possible, the hotel provides a free change of bed linen and cleaning materials on each floor, as well as extra cooking utensils, wine glasses and yoga mats. To make life easier for travellers, Zoku Paris also has a cloakroom on the ground floor where they can take a shower and leave their luggage on arrival or after check-out. So you can leave with no regrets.
