2011: a record year for French airports

As might have been expected after the main French airports, led by Nice and ADP, reported unprecedented performances, the Union des Aéroports Françaises (UAF) (French Airports Union) has summed up a record year for French hubs.

The figures unveiled on Monday by the Union of French Airports (UAF) confirmed the unprecedented nature of 2011 for the market: French airports recorded a significant increase in the number of passengers handled (+6.3%), taking them to a record performance. In all, some 163.6 million passengers used French airports during the year, with special mention for the Beauvais and Basel-Mulhouse hubs, which posted the biggest increases: 25.4% and 22.4% respectively.
