France launches its health pass via TousAntiCovid

Long shunned, even scoffed at, the TousAntiCovid should see its download rates soar over the coming weeks. The government has just decided to integrate the test certificates and vaccination certificates. And in fact to transform the tool into a health pass, a new sesame being tried out by a growing number of airlines.

In concrete terms, the mobile application has just been updated to include a new section called "Attestations & Carnet. Once the test has been completed, the user receives a simple text message to retrieve the new certificate. The user is now authenticated using the QR code named Datamatrixstored in TousAntiCovid Carnet, then checked using the TousAntiCovid Verif tool supplied to the entities concerned, in particular the police, customs, but also the airlines. Vaccination certificates will be affected from 29 April.

Just as concretely, this new health pass will be trialled for air travel to the Corsica before the end of the month, then for flights to the French Overseas Departments and Territories over the next few weeks. Travellers will then be invited to use this new verification process - which is more reliable and quicker to check - via TousAntiCovid, but the digital device will not be compulsory.
