The first route operated by Norwegian airline Flyr will link Oslo-Gardermoen to Paris CDG on 14 October. Services to Copenhagen (CPH) and Rome Fiumicino (FCO) will begin one day later. Each of these three new routes will be operated twice weekly by Boeing 737-800. Launched on 30 June, Flyr already serves Nice from Oslo - again with two frequencies per week.
The carrier will face stiff competition on all these routes from Norwegian, SAS and Paris with Air France.
From Oslo, the airline offers transfers to six other Norwegian cities, including Bergen, Trondheim and Tromsø. Ultimately, Flyr says it wants to serve 50 destinations in Europe with a fleet of 28 to 30 aircraft. In France, the airline is planning to open flights to Ajaccio in the longer term.
