Switzerland's third-largest airport and the leading airport in eastern France, EuroAirport Basel/Mulhouse once again offers more than 90 direct destinations in its schedule for the summer 2022 season (valid until 29 October). The offer includes destinations in France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Morocco, Egypt, Turkey and Canada.
The number of connecting flights is once again rising sharply. Several airlines are offering attractive connections via their international hubs: Aegean Airlines (Athens), Air France (Paris), Austrian Airlines (Vienna), British Airways (London), KLM (Amsterdam), Lufthansa (Frankfurt and Munich), Pegasus Airlines and Turkish Airlines (Istanbul) and Vueling (Barcelona)..
Back from Athens and Montreal
EuroAirport will also be welcoming a new airline, the Albanian national carrier Air Albaniawhich will serve the town of Kukës in north-east Albania with two flights a week.
After an interruption linked to the coronavirus, Air Transat returns to Montréal from May in Airbus A321 Neo Long-Range aircraft. The airline will operate one flight a week. EuroAirport welcomes Greek airline back Aegean Airlines. The latter will serve Athens, where connections are available to numerous destinations in Greece and the eastern Mediterranean basin.
Corendon Airlines, based at EuroAirport, is extending its services to the port city of Chania in Crete, a first from the airport. On the low-cost side, Wizz Air is expanding its network with flights to Rome and Kukës. While Ryanair is increasing the frequency of its flights to Zagreb from two to three weekly.
More environmentally-friendly aircraft
With the start of the summer schedules, more and more new-generation aircraft will be operating from EuroAirport. Air Cairo, British Airways, easyJet, Pegasus, Turkish Airlines and Vueling will be operating even more A320 Neo and A321 Neo aircraft. Corendon Airlines, Ryanair, SunExpress and Turkish Airlines are increasingly using Boeing 737 Max aircraft. These aircraft significantly reduce noise pollution and CO2.
Over 60% of flights transiting through the EuroAirport are also subject to carbon offsetting by the airlines easyJet and Air France.. easyJet offsets the carbon emissions of all its flights and Air France those of its flights in mainland France. In collaboration with the myclimate foundation, EuroAirport is also enabling all passengers to voluntarily offset the carbon emissions of their flights..
