The Qatari carrier's membership of Avios offers a combination of benefits, including a wider range of guaranteed award seats and competitive prices on Qatar Airways flights.
The alliance of frequent flyer programmes is initially being applied to the frequent flyer programmes of Qatar Airways and British Airways.. Members of both Clubs can make unlimited transfers of Avios balances between accounts, with no balance limits or transfer feesAvios can be spent and exchanged for Qatar Airways and British Airways award flights. For the moment, it is not possible to transfer Avios from other programmes directly to Qatar Airways. But this will be the next step.
IAG Loyalty and Qatar Airways are working on the introduction of new benefits for customers as part of this partnership. In the coming months, the two entities plan to extend the ways in which members can earn and collect Avios worldwide. Future benefits will include an extended list of airline and non-airline partnerships, including telecommunications, financial services and leisure.
There's more good news for programme members BA Executive Club. The British company has lowered the level of premiums for travel in Qsuite, Business class in Qatar. Avios points are now awarded at a level similar to that of the Qatar Privilege Club. The latter previously offered lower bonus levels for Qsuites.
