
With over 7,000 hotels worldwide, most of them in the US market, Choice Hotels will reinforce its position of strength across the Atlantic by acquiring the franchise activities and operations of Radisson Hotel Group Americas. This entity, separate from Radisson Hotel Group is responsible for the development and management of the Radisson brands in the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
It is this business that the Radisson group is going to take into the hands of the Choice franchisor for a sum of around 675 million dollars. This transaction, which involves 624 hotelsIt includes 10 Radisson Blu and 130 Radisson hotels as well as 453 Country Inn & Suites by Radisson hotels. " This transaction brings together two highly complementary businesses (...) and broadens our scope of action in the premium and full-service premium segments and in higher-income geographical markets." said Patrick Pacious, CEO of Choice Hotels. With nine additional brands, the transaction will enable Choice to enhance its portfolio of predominantly urban brands, suited to markets with high revenue per room.

While Choice will henceforth preside over the destiny of its brands on the American continent, the fruit of this transaction will enable the Radisson Hotel Group to continue to develop in the EMEA and APAC regions, with the aim of doubling the portfolio by 2025.
