The opportunity offered by the award a month ago of the 18 new slots on the airport of Lisbon by the European Commission has not escaped easyJet. On Wednesday, the airline unveiled its new roadmap for the Portuguese capital. Three additional aircraft will now be based there Airbus A321neo - to a fleet of nine aircraft.
For French business travellers, this will mean the launch of three new routes to France. The airline will serve Marseille three times a week from November 1. Four flights are scheduled to Toulouse airport from 30 October, and the Limoges will welcome two weekly flights on 13 December. In addition, easyJet will be increasing the number of flights it offers to several French airports. These include Bordeaux (11 flights a week), Lyon (9), Nice (6) and Nantes (7).
Other new services unveiled by easyJet on 27 July include the launch of a new route to Zurich 30 October - the Lisbon-Geneva being strengthened - and towards Marrakech the following day. Birmingham airport will also be linked to Lisbon from 2 November.
These new features bring the total number of 32 lines easyJet's offer in Lisbon, the carrier establishing itself as the second largest airline at Lisbon airport in terms of capacity, as José Lopes, easyJet's Country Manager for Portugal, points out: " We are extremely pleased to unveil part of easyJet's new network at Lisbon Airport, which will start operating later in 2022 and will make easyJet the second largest carrier operating at Lisbon Airport.
