Easyjet: change of strategy with Beauvais?

Beauvais will become the 23rd French airport to be used by Easyjet, which is launching a service to Lisbon from November.

EasyJet will be stepping on the toes of its competitor Ryanair this winter. The low-cost carrier is arriving in Beauvais, the Irish airline's stronghold. easyJet's arrival is a gentle one. It will be offering three flights a week to Lisbon from November 1 from this airport, positioned as the "ultra low-cost hub of Paris".

With Paris-Beauvais, easyJet serves 23 airports in France. We are delighted to be opening this route, which will link the hub to the must-see destination of Lisbon with a modern Airbus fleet, quality on-board service and affordable fares. This development has been made possible by obtaining slots earlier this summer at Lisbonone of our 28 bases in Europe. EasyJet will become the ninth airline to fly into Beauvais. The two largest operators are currently the two ultra low-cost carriers Ryanair and Wizz Air. In the future, the airline could connect other major European bases to Picardy airport.
