The Burdigala, for many years Bordeaux's leading upmarket hotel, is preparing to regain its status. Closed since October 2021 to embark on a renovation programmeThe hotel is due to reopen in early September. Redesigned by interior architect Fabien Roque, the hotel is a cross between luxury and lifestyle. It also has a boutique feel thanks to the limited number of rooms - 83 rooms and suites - with an intimate, cosy feel.
Located on rue Georges Bonnac, in the fast-growing Mériadeck business district, Burdigala aims to establish itself as a point of a key event in local social lifeThe Burdigala is also a meeting place for the city's creative community, with a mysterious speakeasy-style bar and Madame B, a restaurant and bar serving authentic gourmet cuisine. But the Burdigala also sees itself as a hybrid meeting place where passing travellers can mingle with the city's creative community around its "social working table", which takes place from 10am to 6pm in the heart of its lobby, under a light-filled atrium.
For more formal business meetings, the hotel has a creative hub just a stone's throw away, at 39-41 rue du Petit Goave: l'Atelier du Burdigala. A meeting centre divided into seven hybrid, modular and connected spaces, suitable for all types of events. The largest of these, the 80m² Mériadeck workshop can accommodate around fifty people in a theatre - and 22 people in a U-shape - but can also be combined with the Saint-Seurin workshop to create a venue of over 135m² for conferences. As for the Saint-Seurin workshop on its own, at 56 m² it is more suited to team seminars and collaborative projects.
Similar synergies are possible between the Intendance workshop (72 m²) and the Tourny workshop (50 m²), giving a total surface area of 122 m². The Burdigala MICE offer also includes three other rooms, the Chartrons workshops (40 m²) for small group discussions, the Grands Hommes workshop (68 m²) and the Quinconces workshop (74 m²), where participants can take advantage of access to the terrace for outdoor breaks. But the five-star Bordeaux hotel also offers other moments of relaxation, with a spa, gym, game room and cinema on the programme.
