Mira Murati, interim CEO of OpenAI,has launched a new version of its ChatGPT programme. The new version, called GPT-4oincludes a series of innovations for users. With a real gift for future customers: the GPT-4o model will be available free of charge. Current subscribers to previous versions will, however, have access to a more powerful version.

The company has begun rolling out the new model to both paying and non-paying users. The free version of ChatGPT allows a limited number of messages with GPT-4o, then automatically switches to GPT-3.5. Individual paying users benefit from limits five times higher, and professional paying users benefit from even greater capacity.

GPT-4o considerably improves the chatbot's functionality. In particular, it offers a more integrated interphase for multiple tasks - text creation, presentation and creation of documents or graphics, insertion of videos, etc. But above all, for travellers, one of the most remarkable advances is the integration of a robotic voice translator. This is probably the most important feature for a business traveller.

According to Mira Murati, this new function will make it possible to translate 50 different languages. That's 97% of the languages used by Internet users. During a live demonstration, Mira Murati spoke Italian to the person she was speaking to. The caller received an answer in English via her chatbot. And vice versa. The translation function will also apply to to photos. For example, ChatGPT will not only translate a photo of a menu into the selected language. But it will also provide cultural information about a dish. And even make recommendations on how to eat it...
