As we head back to school in 2024, the airlines' catalogues are packed with new products. And South-East Asian destinations do not have the monopoly on major announcements - even if the return of direct flights from Paris to Manila or Kuala Lumpur will be of great interest to business travellers, who should be particularly interested in the recent announcements from Transavia. While its big sister Air France is preparing its return to the Philippines, the up-and-coming low-cost carrier is making eyes at the Algerian market. And in particular to the many business travellers who fly over the Mediterranean throughout the year.

Nicolas Henin makes no secret of the fact: " Algeria is more than ever a key market for Transavia ". Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing of Transavia France, he continued: " Demand from our customers is very strong, which is why we are delighted to be offering new travel opportunities from Toulouse, Nice and Marseille. We look forward to welcoming our first customers on board. ".

The airport of Marseille is at the forefront of this rise in the power of Transavia on the axis France-Algeria. The Cité Phocéenne will be linked to Algiers from 21 October. The Transavia schedule includes five flights a week - with frequencies high enough to meet the needs of business customers - with flights every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Transavia will be competing with Air Algérie and Vueling on this route. Marseille-Alger.

Another new option between the southern region and the Algerian capital: Transavia will be launching the flight Nice-Alger on 27 October, with two flights a week, every Thursday and Sunday. As for ToulouseTransavia will even be doing double duty. Air France's low-cost subsidiary will successively inaugurate the flight Toulouse-Oran on 23 October, followed by Toulouse-Alger from the following day. Operations to Algiers will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and those to Oran on Mondays and Fridays.

In the longer term, Transavia is also planning to move into the Cairo from Marseille. In summer 2025, the airline will launch a weekly flight every Saturday. The first flight is scheduled for April 2025.
