
La 2024/2025 winter season will lead to an increase in the power of the American carrier United Airlines to theAfrica. The carrier currently serving from Newark or Washington the cities of Accra, Johannesburg, Lagos and Cape Town will add to its network Dakar and Marrakech.
Departing from the latter town, United Airlines becomes the only US airline to offer non-stop flights to Newark. Since 24 October, United has been offering three weekly rotations by Boeing 767-300ER. With the announced launch of the Washington Dulles-Dakar (Senegal), scheduled for May 2025, United will offer the most extensive service in Africa among American airlines.
United is also strengthening its position on its other routes. Since 24 October, the airline has been providing daily connections between Accra (Ghana) to Washington. From December, United will also be switching to a daily frequency between Lagos (Nigeria) and Washington.
