"Eurostar must become a service brand and not just a carrier".confirms Lionel Benbassat, Marketing and Sales Director for France. The first new feature is that passengers travelling in Business Premier can now simply show their ticket and board the TGV of their choice on the day of their reservation, without having to change their ticket. During the journey, they can also enjoy new menus created by three Michelin-starred chef Alain Roux. They will also soon be able to book taxis to avoid waiting in stations.
As a member of the Railteam alliance, Eurostar also intends to increase the number of passengers connecting at Lille and Brussels from a quarter today to a third in 2015, representing 5 million passengers. "We are going to offer the simplest and fastest possible product to these customers. Eurostar must demonstrate its superiority over air travel in terms of quality of service and low environmental impact, which has become a major concern for companies".says Lionel Benbassat.
This policy is designed to make Eurostar a must-have brand and attract new travellers, while the company plans to open services in Europe soon, by 2014, thanks to an order for 10 Siemens trains.
