This would probably be the only good news froma fall of the Barnier government. The appointment of a new government and a complete overhaul of the 2025 budget could result in a delay in the application of theincrease in air tax of solidarity. Or even its complete overhaul.
Nothing is less certain, but there would still be a window of opportunity for French air transport to convince a future government to revise this bill.
Three options There are therefore two reasons for the increase in the solidarity tax on air transport. The first is ultimately the survival of the Barnier government. The increase in the TSBA is due to come into force on 1 January. The second is the very rapid appointment of a new government. It would be required to finalise the 2025 budget by 31 December. With this tax (modified or not) coming into force in the first days of January. Third solution: no government is appointed, involving a renewal of the 2024 budget.
