
A few weeks ago, the Radisson group announced a key arrival in Spain, that of its Radisson Collection luxury brand. on Madrid's main thoroughfareGran Via. This new hotel will join a number of upmarket hotels in major cities such as Barcelona, Bilbao and Seville. But with around fifteen establishments in Spain and Portugal, the Radisson group intends to go much further, with new resorts and business hotels in major cities. This desire to expand is already taking shape with the announcement of three forthcoming openings in Malaga, Tenerife and Porto. The first to appear is expected in the fourth quarter of this year in the Canary Islands, on the island of Tenerife. Already operating a Radisson Blu resort in Lanzarote through its partner Canarian Hospitality, the group is adding to its offering in this leisure destination with the acquisition of a complex currently being renovated and repositioned to become the Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife. Combining hotel rooms and flats for a total of 242 units, this resort, located 25 minutes from Los Rodeos airport and an hour from Reina Sofia airport, offers a relaxing environment with its swimming pool and two restaurants. But it also caters for seminars and incentive trips, with a 500 m² ballroom.
Alongside this MICE resort, business travellers will be able to enjoy two new hotels under the Radisson RED lifestyle brand in 2027. While Malaga is a destination known for its top-of-the-range hotels, the brand will bring a contemporary touch to a city that is booming, not only for urban weekends, but also for its technology sector. Spain's sixth-largest city, the capital of the Costa del Sol is transforming itself into one of the world's most dynamic cities. Silicon Valley with, as a symbol, the opening at the end of 2023 of Google's third cybersecurity centre, after Munich and Dublin. Located just a short walk from the Plaza de la Constitucion and the historic city centre, the Radisson RED will offer a range of services in line with the needs of tech professionals, with lively communal areas, a bar and a rooftop swimming pool, in addition to a 100 m² meeting space and 102 rooms.
In Portugal, in addition to the forthcoming start of the renovation of the Radisson Blu in Lisbon, the hotel group also expects to see a new lifestyle hotel in Porto in 2027. Located in Vila Nova de Gaia, opposite the General Torres metro and train station and linked to Francisco Sa Carneiro airport in 45 minutes, the Radisson RED Porto Gaia will have 250 rooms and, as it should, dynamic social spaces with a restaurant and several bars, including one on the terrace and another on the roof.
