Once again, connectivity goes hand in hand with loyalty. American Airlines is also embracing the trend of 'monetising' Wi-Fi access in exchange for membership of the American airline's loyalty programme: AAdvantage. This free Internet access will come into effect in January 2026. It will apply to all devices with broadband satellite connectivity provided by Viasat and Intelsat, i.e. 90 %s in the American Airlines fleet. Between now and then, the American carrier intends to equip more than 500 regional aircraft.

" Our customers greatly appreciate staying connected during their flights, whether to communicate with friends, work, consult social networks or enjoy their favourite streaming services. "assures Heather Garboden, Director of Customer Experience at American Airlines. " We have worked hard to equip our aircraft with best-in-class high-speed Wi-Fi and, together with AT&T, we are proud to offer these services free of charge to our most loyal customers. "continues Heather Garboden.
