A wind of change is blowing through airports in the UK. A LondonThe airports of Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted have embarked on ambitious projects.. And the Irish airports are following suit. Manchester is not to be outdone: the Mancunian hub has embarked on a vast modernisation plan, which will soon benefit business travellers.
The attention ofManchester airport is now focusing on the Terminal 3. The terminal will benefit from an investment of several million euros. The makeover will involve renovating the entrance to the terminal, as well as the security hall and boarding area. The specifications call for 40% of additional seats in the departures hall. On the security side, new equipment will be integrated to ensure a smoother passenger experience. A new 500-seat bar with a view of the airfield will also be inaugurated, the catering area will be extended to include an additional 200 seats, and the shopping offer will be greatly expanded in the terminal's arrivals area.
A T2 XXL, a T1 on the verge of extinction
Alongside the renovation of Terminal 3, Manchester Airport will be continuing a vast metamorphosis begun 10 years ago at a cost of more than 1.5 billion euros. And it's Terminal 2 - which will double in size - is the cornerstone of this transformation. Its extension was inaugurated in 2021, and by the end of the year the existing building will have completed its modernisation plan to bring it up to standard. Ultimately, Terminal 2 should concentrate more than 70% of passengers at Manchester Airport. As for the Terminal 1its future is now sealed: it will close its doors, and will be partly "recycled" to contribute to theTerminal 3 extensionby linking the two infrastructures.

We're doing this while making general improvements to Terminal 3, so that passengers can enjoy new security technology, more space, more seats, new shops and restaurants, and much more.
