With a hotel opened last year at Porte de Versailles in Paris and another in the pipeline for the end of the year on the Ile de Nantes, Eklo is continuing to expand its offering in France. But the chain, with its economic and ecological positioning, is not just opening new hotels. It can also expand existing hotels.
Its Bordeaux hotel, due to open in 2019 in the Bastide Niel eco-neighbourhood, has undergone a major extension. Two new eco-designed buildings have been added on either side of the original hotel to accommodate 76 additional rooms. More spacious, measuring 13 m² instead of 11 m² for the former "compact" room, they bring the total number of rooms available to 200, including single, twin and double rooms, family rooms and dormitories for 6 to 8 people. There is also a design studio for up to 4 people and a flat for 6 people.
But this extension is also, and above all, geared towards business tourism, with the creation of three meeting rooms measuring 29 m², 43 m² and 72 m², all of which can be adapted to suit different requirements. This MICE area is complemented by a 100 m² terrace that can be used for private events, as well as by the possibility of using the restaurant and its 240 m² terrace for cocktails for up to 200 people.

The expansion of Eklo Bordeaux has made it possible to incorporate the brand's restaurant concept, French Kiss, launched in 2023 in Montpellier and extended to a rooftop at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. This includes a restaurant-bar with a guinguette feel, seating 130 people indoors, extended by a terrace with seating for 100.
Designed by the Janreji studio with street art touches by Bordeaux artist Rébecca Bourbigot, the extension is also in line with the sustainable strategy of the chain, nine of whose establishments were awarded the Clef Verte label this year. With its use of low-carbon concrete, green façade, photovoltaic panels and connection to deep geothermal district heating, the establishment is in line with the CSR expectations of the organisers.
