His metamorphosis was announced. It is now a reality. The Sofitel New York, flagship of the Sofitel brand on the other side of the Atlantic, has just completed a long transformation phase, with Art Deco as the common thread linking New York and Paris, the main inspiration for the new decor provided by the HBA San Francisco design studio. Or when the French art of living meets the glamorous atmosphere of Manhattan. " The transformation of the Sofitel New York pays homage to the unique energy of New York, while sublimating the elegance of our French heritage. "said Dieter Schmitz, the school's managing director.
Located on 44th Street and welcoming guests in its majestic lobby, the Sofitel New-York features 346 rooms and 52 suites entirely redesigned with a neutral colour palette inspired by the ivory and cream tones of Art Deco, contrasted with touches of black, in homage to the fine arts of the 1930s, and fabrics in shades of red. All are equipped with the emblematic Sofitel MY BED and marble bathrooms with toiletries by Balmain and Dyptique. Some of the rooms on the upper floors have large picture windows offering views over the rooftops of Manhattan.
Residents of the 52 suites at the Sofitel New York will appreciate this panorama even more, especially those with a terrace or balcony. Among the new features, the Sofitel New York offers seven Collection suites, with a bold design, but above all a penthouse on the 28th floor, measuring 112m², with a lounge and dining room that can accommodate up to eight guests.

Another change for the hotel is that its food and beverage offer will be centred around an elegant and friendly central location, Social 45, Bar & Bistro, whose menu combines classic French cuisine with New York-inspired creations such as grilled cheese with caviar or creative cocktails. An open-air café will also open its doors in spring 2026. The hotel's metamorphosis has also resulted in the refurbishment of the MICE area, comprising seven meeting rooms and a ballroom, the elegant Paris Ballroom, located at the top of the Grand Escalier.
Like Sofitel Montreal, also recently renovated, Sofitel New York is the North American spokesperson for a certain idea of contemporary luxury that the brand intends to deploy. "After the successful transformations of Sofitel Philadelphia, Sofitel Montreal and Sofitel Los Angeles, Sofitel New York stands out as our Art Deco icon - a major step forward in our ambition to infuse the French zest so characteristic of Sofitel, here harmoniously blended with the inimitable energy of New York", said Maud Bailly, CEO Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems.
Sofitel New York will now be one of the flagship hotels of the new generation of Sofitel hotels. Several of them have already completed their metamorphosis, including the Sofitel Athens, Bangkok Sukhumvit and Sydney Wentworth, Montreal Le Carré Doré and now the Sofitel New York. Others will follow. " Today, nearly 30 % of Sofitel establishments worldwide are undergoing transformation, a testament to our commitment to ensuring consistency and excellence across our network. "commented Maud Bailly.
