Singapore Airlines (SIA) has just announced that it will increase its capacity mainly on Asian routes for the IATA summer season, from 29 March 2026 to 24 October 2026.
The new services will begin on 29 March 2026 with the launch of an additional daily service between Singapore and Bangkok. The Thai capital is in fact one of the best served in South-East Asia with a total of seven daily services by Singapore Airlines.
From 31 March, SIA will also be adding three extra weekly frequencies to Yangon (Rangoon) in Myanmar, for a total of ten frequencies per week. The carrier will also add two extra weekly flights to Surabaya, offering 3 daily flights to Indonesia's second city.
SIA will operate 10 weekly services between Singapore and Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 29 March to 30 April 2026. These frequencies will be increased to two daily flights from 1 May.
Between 29 March and 31 May 2026, SIA will also be offering four additional weekly flights to Taipei. A total of 18 flights per week.
In addition, the airline is strengthening its position in the Middle East by launching four flights a week to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on 2 June. The flights will be operated by Airbus A350-900 with a two-class service (business and economy).
In Europe, there is little new for summer 2026, with the exception of a decoupling of the Barcelona-Milan-Singapore route. The airline will offer five flights a week to Barcelona instead of three.
Finally, Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines have confirmed their commercial partnership. Following the green light from their respective authorities, the two airlines will be able to deepen their partnership through a greater number of code-shared flights, joint fare products and the harmonisation of their flight schedules. Further initiatives will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
