A Rennesthe MeM is getting a new lease of life, and a new dimension. The events centre, which opened its doors in 2019, has moved a few hundred metres to the east, giving itself a more ambitious, more versatile configuration, which was inaugurated this week.
The Magic Mirrors tent, star of the MeM, is still on the bill. But its capacity has now been increased to 2,000 people. A major asset for the site: " It will meet a need in terms of capacity, as there are very few venues in the Rennes area that can accommodate 2,000 people standing. "says Etienne Legeard, MeM's Operations Manager.
Magic Mirrors has fully-equipped private areas, as well as a mezzanine floor with a panoramic view of the stage. This mezzanine includes two private boxes, 64m² and 39m², which can be booked individually. In addition to the Magic Mirrors, the new MeM has a 700-seat Guinguette, with a bar and snack service.
The MeM's facilities can accommodate a plenary session for up to 500 people, a gala dinner for up to 350 people, a cocktail reception for up to 900 people, and concerts or shows for up to 2,000 people. The lounge with its private garden can accommodate a cocktail party for 50 people, and an adjoining room (200 m²) will eventually be able to accommodate seminars for 20 to 70 people, or afterwork parties for up to 100 people.
Under the management of the Groupe Malivern, the MeM will retain its cultural vocation, but will be more open to corporate events. Those in charge of the site plan to host concerts, conferences, galas, trade fairs and seminars, community and public events, cabaret shows and film shoots.
