It's done! As officially announced on 6 March, LOT Polish Airlines has now activated Wi-Fi on its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Two other aircraft will follow by the end of April. The Polish airline is thus joining the norm, as Izabela Leszczyńska, Director of Product Development and Customer Experience, LOT Polish Airlines, agrees: " Internet access has become a standard expectation on long-haul flights. Its gradual implementation on our fleet is therefore a natural part of the development of our offer, in response to the needs of our passengers - whether they are travelling for business or leisure. ".
And in a context where Starlink imposes its hegemony in the air - and even on the Italian rails - LOT stands out from the crowd by opting for Viasat. " We wanted a solution that would guarantee stability and quality, which is why we chose a recognised partner in the aeronautical sector, whose technology is used by airlines all over the world. "explains Izabela Leszczyńska. She continues: " Our passengers travel with different objectives and expectations. We want them to be able to spend their time on board exactly as they need to - productively, in contact with loved ones, or in total relaxation. ".
However, unlike a growing number of airlines, LOT has opted for paid connectivity. The Chat package (7 $) offers access to instant messaging. The Streaming package (29 $) will allow you to browse the web, watch videos and work online. Nevertheless, LOT is offering Internet access to business class passengers, as well as to certain members of the frequent flyer programme.
