LOT Polish Airlines has reached a major milestone in its conquest of the US market. On 19 December, the airline inaugurated its very first lounge in the United States. And it is Chicago O'Hare which has been chosen for this premiere. This is no coincidence, since, as the company's management points out Chicago is home to one of the largest Polish communities in the worldand its region "has long served as a cultural and commercial bridge between Poland and the United States. The national carrier's presence in Chicago for more than 50 years is a testament to its recognition of this unique community, and the new business lounge is a response to the needs of passengers who expect the highest standards of service".
These passengers will now be welcomed in a brand new lounge located in the central area of terminal 5, with a surface area of 617 m² and 165 seats with a view over the tarmac. Open daily from 7am to midnight, the LOT lounge is accessible free of charge to LOT business class passengers, as well as first and business class passengers of Star Alliance partner airlines. Star Alliance Gold members are also eligible. Walk-in access, charged at $70, is also available.
Last year, LOT carried some 250,000 passengers between Poland and Chicago, and currently links Windy City with Warsaw and Krakow.
