Airport pick-up, luxury vehicle, even a glass of champagne: Uber Upscale your VIP service. Its new Uber Elite offering promises "a whole new luxury transport experience, designed for executives, frequent travellers and passengers seeking a more refined experience".
The Uber Elite service is based on carefully selected drivers, with premium and recent vehicles – less than three years old – offering an enhanced service. Business travellers can therefore choose the "Meet & Greet" option for pick-up within the terminal itself upon arrival at the airport, at baggage reclaim.
Uber Elite also intends to respond to "Special Requests". The VTC platform notably mentions "a festive touch (champagne, why not?)". But for the moment, it specifies: "We will do the necessary with our partners to respond to them as far as possible".
Furthermore, Uber Elite offers premium 24/7 phone support, before, during and after your journey.
As its name suggests, the new service is intended for a restricted clientele. Without, however, ruling out expansion over time. Invitations are therefore being sent as a priority to frequent users of Uber Black and Uber for Business customers. And a waiting list has been put in place.
Already available in Los Angeles and San Francisco, New York will soon be included. Uber plans for other American and international cities to follow.
