With the launch of the line to Seattle by Alaska Airlines Friday 22 May, the airline alliance oneworld further strengthen its presence at London Airport Heathrow Airport, giving the latter absolute control over Europe's largest hub.
Heathrow now serves 14 member airlines of the oneworld alliance. During the 2026 summer season, the alliance’s carriers are offering nearly 2,800 weekly departures connecting London directly to more than 160 destinations in over 60 countries. In 2025, some 29 million oneworld passengers travelled to, from or via Heathrow, including nearly 30,% connecting between different member airlines of the alliance.
Beyond the extent of its global network, oneworld offers a premium service for high-contribution passengers at Heathrow. First and Business Class passengers can access 13 lounges located in terminals 3, 4 and 5, operated by British Airways, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Qatar Airways.
London also remains a key destination for international travellers booking round-the-world tickets through oneworld. According to the alliance, 71% of bookings made this year on its website include London as a stop on a multi-destination itinerary.

A very business-friendly destination

For his part, Brett Catlin, Vice President of Loyalty, Partnerships and International at Alaska Airlines, said at the inauguration ceremony: “ With the launch of this route to London, we are further strengthening the value of our oneworld membership. London is one of the most important international hubs in the world and offers our passengers simplified connections to Europe and beyond through the alliance network.".
At London Heathrow, oneworld member airlines operate from the following terminals:
- Terminal 3: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Royal Jordanian and SriLankan Airlines
- Terminal 4: Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Oman Air and Royal Air Maroc
- Terminal 5: British Airways and Iberia
After Heathrow, the other major global hubs best served by oneworld are Dallas/Fort Worth, Doha, Tokyo-Narita and New York-JFK, each hosting 11 member airlines from the alliance.
