Loyalty: Pay with your points using the Hilton Honors app

The Hilton Honors loyalty program is being enhanced with the digital "Pay with Points" solution, offering members the option – currently in the United States – to pay with their points at the digital check-out.

Digitizing the use of loyalty points: Hilton is presenting itself as the first major group to offer this solution in its application for Hilton Honors members. Offered to high-status customers – Silver, Gold, Diamond or Diamond Reserve – the new Pay with Points feature allows them to apply their Points to pay for their hotel bill upon digital check-out. Upon departure, Elite status members will be able to view their bill and choose from the various available Point usage options within the app to pay for eligible charges in this way.

While some competing groups offer this option, requiring the intervention of the reception, the novelty announced by the American group lies in its digital dimension.« Our Hilton Honors members told us that they wanted more flexibility in the use of their Points, said Brad Anderson, vice president of the Hilton Honors program. Pay with Points has made available a new digital tool that makes travel more fluid and offers them the choice and control they value most. "

However, not all business travelers, especially those from this side of the Atlantic, will be able to take advantage of this feature immediately. Pay with Points is currently available in only 150 participating hotels in the United States, in a «test & learn» approach, a number that is expected to be expanded to more than 800 hotels by the end of 2026, and then to a total of 6,000 participating hotels in the United States and Canada by early 2027. As for other regions of the world, the American group does not provide any details regarding a possible rollout.
