Naples-Capodichino Airport is closed to all air traffic for the month of November. Its operator, Gesac, announced this closure on October 29 to completely renovate the runway, the traffic lanes and the lighting. The project represents an investment of 30 million euros. ADR Infrastrutture, selected after a tender, employs around 500 people, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on an area of 250,000 m². Gesac justifies this schedule by the low usual traffic in November.

During the closure, the airport of Salerne Costa d’Amalfi e del Cilento will host part of the flights. It thus offers 15 destinations, including nine international ones. For French travelers, Transavia provides the connection to Paris. The other international destinations are Amsterdam, Barcelona, Casablanca, Dubai, Düsseldorf, Madrid, Sharm el-Sheikh and Stuttgart.
