The opening of the Novotel Moscow City hotel brings the number of Accor hotels in Russia to 18, with five in Moscow itself. The hotel, located in the eponymous business centre, reflects Accor's strong interest in this market, which is expected to have some 50 Accor locations within three years. "Russia and the CIS are key regions for the dynamic development of our group," said Yann Caillère, Chief Executive Officer of Accor. "With our strong portfolio of luxury and budget brands, powerful distribution systems and operational excellence, we are uniquely positioned to seize opportunities in this fast-growing market," he adds, adding: "Our ambition is to have a network of 50 hotels in Russia and the CIS by 2016. We are developing all our brands, including our top-of-the-range hotels, with the launch of the Pullman brand by the end of the year. We plan to open hotels in new countries such as Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
