American business travel professionals are approaching 2014 with optimism. At least, that's what the "Top Business Travel Trends for 2014" survey published on 10 January by Travel Leaders Group seems to indicate, according to which a majority of companies expect their travel spending to increase (38.4%) or stabilise (39.4%) over the course of the year. More than ever, companies value the experience of their travel agent, cited as the most important aspect of the service provided by a TMC in 63.9% of cases, ahead of 24-hour service (12%) and discounts and benefits (8.3%). Finally, flight delays will once again be the main concern for business travellers in 70.1% of cases, ahead of limited seat capacity and... mileage accumulation, which nonetheless attracts the attention of 37.5% of respondents.
