A new mobile application is making its appearance in the world of business travel in France. The new tool is the brainchild of BCD Travel: the Netherlands-based Travel Management Company (TMC) has just made official the French version of TripSource, available now on the App Store, and soon on Android and mobile Internet. The free mobile application gives business travellers instant access from their smartphone to all the data relating to their business trip, while simplifying management on the move and promoting compliance with travel policy.
Riding the wave of social networking, TripSource allows travellers to share their travel information with colleagues or friends, and to consult useful information such as flight status, gate changes and driving directions in real time. "By centralising all useful information, TripSource offers great added value as a travel management tool for agents and will undoubtedly become a valuable travel companion for travellers," predicts Valérie Sasset, Managing Director of BCD Travel France.
It should be noted that the business travel agency is already looking ahead to the next version of its mobile tool, which should be released in a few months' time: "an Enterprise version (...) will soon be released for travel programme managers, incorporating a real-time communication tool that will encourage travellers to make the right choices during their trip and thus limit the impact of hidden costs", warn BCD Travel managers. In addition to personalised content and instant communication between travellers and their Travel Manager, TripSource Enterprise will also incorporate gamification: "Companies can take the initiative to better inform their travellers and reward behaviour that contributes to the success of the programme by allocating exclusive offers, for example", says the press release, adding "New elements are currently under development: instant messaging for direct contact with agents and the integration of company discounts into hotel reservations and loyalty programmes".
