Elegance, comfort and ergonomics: this is the trilogy promoted by the new cabins currently being deployed in the 95 medium-haul Airbus aircraft in the British Airways fleet. At the rear of the aircraft, the airline intends to resolve the dilemma between economy and comfort. Designed by B/E Aerospace, the new Euro Traveller economy class seats will provide greater capacity while maximising passenger comfort, according to the British carrier. The "innovative design" of the new seats should provide extra legroom thanks to the attention paid to the backrest. Club Europe business class will retain its 2-2 configuration, with the central seat remaining neutral. The console integrated between the two seats should provide a more functional space for business travellers, while the lighting varies at each stage of the flight to adapt to the appropriate ambience. "We're introducing a new design, but the comfort, elegance and quality that define British Airways remain," says Keith Williams, Chairman and CEO of British Airways.
