Air traffic controllers strike: 20% flights cancelled

The strike action launched by air traffic controllers on 24 June is expected to have a moderate impact on business travel. The main disruption should be limited to airports in the south of France, for flights to Spain, Portugal and North Africa.

While the rail strike seems to be coming to an end, another disruptive element was expected this week, launched by the air traffic controllers. In the end, the lifting of the strike notice by one of the two unions concerned limited the impact of the strike: 20% flights are expected to be cancelled, mainly to destinations around the Mediterranean, at the request of the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC). As of Monday, Air France expected to operate all its long-haul flights and 90 % of its short and medium-haul flights.
