The strike action initiated by the Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) pilots' union has forced Lufthansa to cancel 25 of the 57 long-haul flights initially scheduled to depart from Frankfurt on 30 September. However, two of the 26 flights that had been maintained were rescheduled earlier, and four others were rescheduled for the following day, Wednesday.
The strike is expected to be confined to the Frankfurt hub and the long-haul network, with Lufthansa expecting no disruption on Munich or Düsseldorf, while the group's other airlines - Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Germanwings, SWISS and Air Dolomiti - will avoid any disruption.
