Slowly but surely, European travel managers are waking up to the importance of security for their business travellers. At least, that's one possible interpretation of the study published on 2 February by the Business Travel Show. The Business Travel Show, which opens its doors in London on 24 February, notes a slight increase (+2%) in the number of companies with a risk management strategy. However, those with a sour taste will note that more than a quarter of the companies surveyed (27%) have still not introduced such programmes. Yet the security of business travellers is cited as the 4th priority for Travel Managers in this study. It also appears at the top of the list in the EVP barometer published the previous week by American Express Business Travel. It is also worth noting that Travel Managers are now almost unanimous (93%) in admitting that the duty of care is their responsibility.
