Air France celebrates 70th anniversary of the Paris-New York route with the inauguration on Monday 6 June of a new flight to JFK, departing from Orly airport. Departure from Paris airport is at 11.20am, arriving at New York-JFK at 1.25pm. On the return journey, passengers will leave JFK at 6.25pm, arriving in Paris at 7.45am the following morning. This flight, operated daily by Boeing B777-200, has 250 seats in Economy class, plus 35 seats in Business and 24 in Premium Economy. As a reminder, when the Paris-New York route was inaugurated on 1 July 1946, 33 passengers were able to board the DC-4, which at the time covered the route in... 23 hours 45 minutes! A completely different era. " By connecting New York from Orly, Air France intends to seize every opportunity for development, simplify travel for its customers and promote commercial links, particularly to and from the French regions. Alongside this new route, Air France is also unveiling another new service for business travellers: over 330m² of exhibition space which opens its doors every day from 5.30am to 10pm in Hall 3 at Paris-Orly airport. The new lounge is open to La Première and Business customers, as well as Flying Blue Elite Plus members.
In all, the Air France KLM group is offering twelve destinations in the United States during the summer, with 214 weekly flights from Paris-Orly, Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol.
