Business travellers to South Korea will soon be able to enjoy the ultimate in airport terminals. The 18th January 2018airport Seoul-Incheon will be inaugurating its second terminal. The new terminal will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, improving comfort and speed from check-in to boarding. Four airlines will be based there: Delta Air Lines, Air France, KLM and, of course, Korean Air.
This new extension will enable flights between certain continents to be better connected. For example, travellers from the United States and South-East Asia will see their reduced transfer periods. New baggage drop-off points and self-check-in kiosks will be installed, together with the latest screening and detection equipment. Among other things, this technological upgrade will save passengers a considerable amount of time. Seoul-Incheon airport will also be offering travellers a smartphone application. This will enable them to geolocate to provide them with real-time information on their flights, boarding passes and current location.
A new eco-responsible terminal for Seoul-Incheon
While fluidity was one of the priorities in the design of the new wing of Seoul-In Incheon, comfort has not been forgotten. Business travellers in forward classes will have access to new facilities as soon as they check in. In First, a "Premium check-in Lounge aims to offer a " top-of-the-range concierge service" with check-in, baggage handling, immigration information and a welcome cocktail. Business class passengers will also be entitled to a dedicated recording room called "Premium Check-in". Then there's access to the real business lounges. And here, Korean has thought big: no less than four top-of-the-range areas. The first, exclusive lounge will accommodate up to 30 First Class passengers two other lounges, with 400 and 200 placesThese are for Prestige Class business passengers. The Korean airline has even dedicated a fourth lounge to its most loyal customers, the " high milers" .
L'ecology has also been taken into account in the design of the new building. Ventilation and lighting are environmentally friendly, and when renewable energy systems are added in, the second terminal consumes 40 % less electricity than its predecessor. Indoor gardens for travellers have also been incorporated into the architecture. However, these green spaces are not the only facilities for relaxation: an auditorium has also been built to host cultural performances.
