Le Top 20 of the top destinations for business travellers in 2018 has just been published by Egencia. Paris is well placed in the ranking, coming in at third worldwide. According to the figures unveiled by the business travel agency, Paris saw air bookings take off from January to May 2018 (+30%), confirming the upward trend recorded in 2017 (+25%).
New Yorkwhich has dominated the Egencia rankings since 2016, has once again beaten London (2e), " a trend that is likely to continue as Egencia flight data shows that flight bookings for business travel to NY are 15% higher than those to London "warn the authors of the study.
The presence of London and Paris on the podium - which could make theEurope the the world's leading business travel destination - is misleading. In fact, no other representative of the Old Continent features in this global top 20.
Another finding of the study is the increase in the volume of flight bookings compiled by Egencia since 2014: "between 1 January 2014 and 31 May 2018, the total number of flight bookings for business travel increased by 130%" the study points out. " Over the same period, flight bookings to New York increased by 160 %, to London by 90 % and to Paris by almost 150 %. Meanwhile, Singapore recorded the biggest increase in flight bookings in the world: air travel to and from this destination rose by more than 200 % (203 %) over the four-year period", it goes on to say.
