Feeling asleep in the middle of the day or wide-eyed in the middle of the night: the effects of jet lag are well known to long-distance business travellers. But what to do at two in the morning while the rest of the city sleeps? Where can you lie down for half an hour when you're having a nose dive during the day? The Air France-KLM frequent flyer programme Flying Blue aims to offer solutions tailored to travellers' biological clocks with the launch of the first travel guide based on the jet lag.
Called Jetlag Social Club, this guide takes the form of a mobile application is geolocation-enabled and lists a wide range of activities and experiences that can be enjoyed at any time of the day or night. For the moment, only the city of Tokyo is on offer, but new destinations will be added later this year. Travellers who have just arrived in Tokyo will be able to take advantage of more than 130 activities selected by Flying BlueFor example, learning to play baseball at 1am, taking a siesta in a museum in the morning or having breakfast at 1pm when everyone else is at lunch.
