Seven years to meticulously transform and renovate seven historic buildings with facades in Renaissance, Art Deco or eclectic styles: a stone's throw from Madrid's Puerta del SolThe Centro Canalejas complex has taken its time to breathe new life into the city. a collection of prestigious buildings Dating from the late 21st and early 20th centuries, these buildings once housed the headquarters of financial institutions such as Banco Hispano Americano and Banesto.
Today, the site is dedicated to both luxury shopping and hospitality, with a Four Seasons due to open on 15 May. "Passion and love have been the driving force behind this project, as the buildings have been transformed, magnified and restored to their former glory."said Christoph Schmidinger, General Manager of the hotel.
Decorated by an international team of designers including BAMO, BG Architecture, Martin Brudnizki, AvroKO and Luis Bustamante, the Four Seasons Madrid account 200 rooms and suites. These include a Royal Suite, whose triangular lounge is housed in the former office of Banesto's president and preserves the historic details of the place.
When it opens, the hotel's residents and local customers will also be able to enjoy a new restaurant concept devised by three-star spanish chef Dani Garcia. Named Dani, this brasserie-style restaurant is located on the roof of the hotel and will have a terrace in fine weather. It will offer panoramic views, as well as showcasing the flavours of Andalusia. In addition, there is a gastrobar offering tapas revisited with Asian flavours and signature cocktails, and a lounge area for guests in the lobby.
The Four Seasons also offers the largest spa in the Spanish capital, spread over four floors, with a swimming pool bathed in natural light on the top floor. More than 1,400 square metres of modular space are available for events, including the Sol Ballroom for up to 500 people.
