Business travellers using Pakistan Airlines routes, between Paris and IslamabadA new Mövenpick business hotel, the first to be opened by the Accor group in the Pakistani capital, will be available at the destination. Housed in one of the country's tallest towers, next to the Centaurus Mall, the hotel is ideally located for business travel, close to the main business districts and diplomatic institutions. Hence its focus on MICE, the Mövenpick Centaurus Islamabad The new Mövenpick Hotel is set to become the city's leading meeting venue, with two large ballrooms for up to 700 people and eight meeting rooms. Offering 380 rooms and suites, including a presidential suite - the hotel also boasts Islamabad's first helipad - this new Mövenpick adds to this a number of bar and restaurant options.
In addition to this arrival in the Pakistani capital, the French group has recently added other hotels aimed primarily at business travellers, including two new Ibis Styles. Accor's contemporary budget brand now has a fourth address in Istanbul, close to Sabiha Gökçen airport and business and shopping centres such as Teknopark and the Viaport Asya shopping mall. ibis Styles İstanbul Kurtköy offers a soothing setting with its winter garden and nature-focused design, and welcomes business travellers with 164 rooms, two meeting rooms and workspaces for mobile professionals. Another destination for ibis Styles is Kuala Lumpur, with a 168-room hotel located in one of the bustling districts of the Malaysian capital, Bukit Bintang.
Also in Asia, next March business travellers will be able to find a new Grand Mercure in Shanghai, in the Pudong district. Located close to the Shanghai New International Expo Center and not far by car from the Lujiazui Financial Center, this establishment is the result of the conversion to the brand of a hotel that has been recognised locally for two decades. The Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park will offer 326 rooms, including 57 suites, a wide range of restaurants and wellness facilities, as well as a vast MICE area with a swimming pool, a ballroom, several meeting rooms and an executive lounge.
This opening precedes the arrival of a Swissôtel within the Accor group, scheduled for mid-2026, near the Caohejing economic and technological development zone and the Shanghai Xinzhuang industrial park. As part of the revitalisation of the Shanghai Hongqiao Gubei commercial development zone, this second Swissôtel property in the Chinese metropolis will combine 249 classic rooms with extended-stay accommodation in 62 Swissôtel Living flats, featuring separate kitchens, living and dining areas. In addition to a focus on wellness and dining, two of the brand's key offerings, the Swissôtel Shanghai Hongqiao will have a predominantly business feel with its vast ballroom - with no pillars - and flexible meeting and event spaces.
