Best airports: ACI's world rankings

The ASQ Awards have just been announced by ACI (Airports Council International), honouring the best airports in the world. In Europe, Rome and Barcelona top the list.

Along with Barcelona, Rome-Fiumicino airport tops the European rankings published by ACI

Airports Council International (ACI) and Amadeus have delivered their verdict, rewarding in each region - and according to different traffic categories - the best best airports of the planet. It is one of the biggest carriers on the Old Continent (over 40 million passengers a year), Rome-Fiumicino and Barcelona-El Prat are doing well. The smaller platforms (between 25 and 40 million) are led by Copenhagen, ZurichMilan Malpensa and Palma de Mallorca.

Unsurprisingly, the Asian winners once again crowned Singapore. Changi airport coexists with Seoul, Mumbai, Guangzhou, Delhi and Shenzhen.

L'North America is dominated by Dallas, Atlanta and Toronto, while the Muscat hub is crowned in the Middle East. Also of note is the double co-op of Moroccowhich leads the African ranking with Casablanca and Marrakech.

The annual ASQ (Airport Service Quality) ranking has been published by ACI since 2006, and is based on a partnership with Amadeus.
