Could this be the 'springtime' of air transport in Africa?
Senegal Airlines began flying in January with two Airbus A320s. Senegal Airlines currently serves regional routes to Abidjan, Banjul, Bamako, Bissau, Conakry, Niamey, Nouakchott and Ouagadougou. It is due to acquire a long-haul aircraft by the end of the year, when it will start flying to Europe and the Middle East.
On 28 March, Cameroon celebrated the arrival of the new local carrier Camairco.
Equipped with a Boeing 737 and a Boeing 767, the airline will use the latter to operate services from Paris to Douala and Yaoundé.
