Just a few hours before the ultimatum set by the union of the public service, Air Canada management has managed to avoid a stalemate, at least for the time being. Negotiations have finally resulted in an agreement in principle, offering the airline a further respite. Strike notice began at 00:01 on Wednesday 21 September, for a period of 72 hours. It was finally lifted by the CUPE union, although its leaders have not yet communicated the terms of the agreement, which must now be adopted by the cabin crew within two weeks.

Air Canada passengers can finally travel with peace of mind this week: the strike notice has been lifted by the Canadian union CUPE, allowing the airline to continue operations.
