Air Corsica reports good traffic levels

" La Corsica has ticked all the right boxes to be one of France's favourite summer destinations. And this has had a stimulating effect on our business "Luc Bereni, Chairman of Air Corsica, immediately displays a degree of satisfaction that contrasts with the more pessimistic views of other airline executives.

" From June, we used 100% of our planned programme over the summer months. Traffic was brisk on our 12 territorial continuity routes linking Ajaccio, Bastia and Calvi to Paris Orly, Marseille and Nice but also on our other lines such as Clermont-Ferrand, Dôle, Lyon and Toulouse" says Luc Bereni. Demand has even led to the return of the regular service between Corsica and Brussels-Charleroi. "  Traffic has picked up so well that we are continuing to fly to Brussels until the beginning of November. And it's likely that we'll be back on the road in January." adds the Chairman of Air Corsica.

More routes in Europe for Air Corsica

During the summer, the carrier also operated regular charter flights to Austria and Scandinavia. Only the United Kingdom missed outdue to restrictions put in place by the British government.

The Corsican carrier remains optimistic. " We have already started selling our routes for spring/summer 2022. And we hope that our seasonal routes will last longer with the end of seasonal services on the island." says Luc Bereni.

The company has the full support of Corsica's territorial assembly and regional government. It also wishes to become involved in the connectivity of the island, as desired by Corsica's elected representatives. " We need to work on a definition of this connectivity that will enable us to connected all year round by air Corsica's links with Europe and the Mediterranean basin. This will be the project of the year 2022" says Luc Bereni. And the opportunity to open a new page for air transport in Corsica.
