Technology - Air France, a mobile carrier

"Strengthening our customer relations and becoming the leader in mobile phone information": this is the dual objective of the tools launched by Air France in February.

Based on the observation that "99 % of loyal passengers use a mobile phone". and that "two thirds of Air France frequent flyers use their mobile phone to surf the internet".the carrier is revolutionising its mobile site, destined to become the benchmark for the market.

From now on, passengers will be able to buy their ticket, check in and receive their check-in card, choose their seat, manage their reservation, and also ask questions and receive immediate answers. Another major innovation is the launch of Air France Connect. Thanks to this new mobile service, passengers are informed in real time of any problems that may arise during their journey, whether before the flight (delays, cancellations, change of boarding gate) or after landing (delayed baggage delivery).

Messages are also sent by e-mail and SMS, "the most appropriate communication channelaccording to Air France. But of course, all this presupposes that Air France actually has the passenger's operational contact. A passenger to whom the national airline is making a promise: "this confidential data will only be used to inform the company of any irregularities in its operations"..
