Over the last few days, several airlines have revealed their increased ambitions for the France-Algeria route. The latest to step up its offer in this strategic market - for business, leisure and affinity customers alike - is France-Algeria. Transavia will soon be offering more than 50 flights a week. From Paris OrlyAir France's low-cost carrier will join Algiers, Constantine and Oranbut also Tlemcen. This latest service, a first for Transavia, will make its debut on 1st August. Transavia's growing presence on the Algerian market will be echoed within the parent airline: Air France is also counting on a stronger presence by targeting two destinations: Algiers and Oran. Service has already been increased from 20 to 29 weekly flights since 13 June. And will reach 48 weekly services from 4th July. Four French airports will be linked by Air France to Algiers. The offer from the two Paris airports will be particularly dense, with 19 flights a week at Paris CDG and 14 at Orly. Marseille and Toulouse will offer five and two weekly flights respectively. Ahmed Ben Bella airport in Oran will be linked five times a week to Paris-CDG (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday), and three times to Toulouse (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday).
The airport of Strasbourg will also be affected by the increase in capacity on the France-Algeria route. Tassili Airlines announced in mid-June that it would be reopening international services to and from Strasbourg. The Algerian airline will resume operations there from Monday 27 June. It will connect Algiers to Alsace airport by Boeing 737 800NG every Monday and Thursday. In addition, Tassili Airlines will offer a flight to Constantine every Saturday, and towards Oran every Thursday.
