Airbnb conquering business travellers

Airbnb is clearly targeting the business travel market. Enriched with tools that will enable travel managers to track their travellers, its Business Travel programme is available globally, after winning over more than 250 companies in the United States.

The fact that business travellers are a prime target for Airbnb is no mystery to the private rental website. But while some travel managers point to the difficulty of tracking travellers booking accommodation via Airbnb, the site has worked to eradicate its weak points through its Business Travel programme. Now available worldwide after being launched in the United States, this programme has already attracted 250 American companies - including Google, TBWA, Twilio and SoundCloud - and has seen 700 % growth in one year.

Three solutions will enable corporate travel managers to track the travel and expenses of their employees. Firstly, the Activity Tab lists all current and forthcoming employee trips. Location and dates of stays, number of travellers, trip status: everything is specified, with the addition of an interactive map to help locate professionals. The Reporting Tab lets you manage booking data for the whole company, as well as exporting reports and financial data. Finally, the Employees Tab lets you define which employees are authorised to book on Airbnb.
