Two terminals share the traffic: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
The first, with its typically Soviet architecture, is reserved for low-cost carriers, including Easyjet and Wizz'Air. Terminal 2 is home to scheduled airlines, including the national carrier Malev and its Oneworld alliance partners. Terminal 2A is reserved for Schengen traffic and terminal 2B for other destinations. Malev passengers can also use the self-service check-in kiosks in terminal 2A.
THE NETWORK
Budapest is served by 32 airlines flying to 70 destinations, including 19 in Central and Eastern Europe. After Qatar Airways to Doha, 2011 will see the arrival of American Airlines with a flight to New York-JFK.
EXHIBITIONS
Oneworld's premium passengers have access to three lounges: the Duna and Audi Sky lounges in terminal 2A and the Millennium Lounge in terminal 2B. On 28 March, a new lounge for 75 passengers will open its doors in the Skycourt, the building linking terminals 2A and 2B.
SHOPPING AND SERVICES
Terminal 2 currently houses around ten shops, two of which are duty-free, and eight cafés and restaurants. The range will be expanded in March with an additional 4,000 m2 of retail space in the SkyCourt. The new building will also include ten check-in counters and eight self-service check-in kiosks.
GETTING THERE
Public transport is limited to direct bus services to the city centre or the nearest metro station. The average taxi fare to the city centre is €21.
THE FUTURE
Two additional piers will give passengers direct access to 16 aircraft located in contact with the terminal. Opening
scheduled for 2012.
